Unity at FIU
If there’s something I will always be grateful and proud of it’s to have had the opportunity to be a part of Florida International University. Studying music there was the foundation on which I built my music career, and it will always have a special place in my heart.
This year I had the honor of attending their annual Music Festival, this time not as a student but as a guest artist and, best of all, with Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson. Not only that, but the marvelous Jon Secada accepted my invitation to the concert and joined me on stage, and I was also accompanied by the FIU Jazz Vocal Ensemble and the FIU String Quartet. We had a great time, and I would like to thank the University once again for its invitation and for everything they did for us!
While we’re on the subject of how Unity began, check out this video we made way back then—with a baby version of me haha—that includes all of the terrific artists who’ve joined us on our journey over the years on this amazing project. All my love and my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of them!!
